Discover CorumbáA mosaic of habitats
Corumbá holds most of the Brazilian Pantanal: over 64,000 km², about 40% of the entire biome. Floodplains, seasonally flooded grasslands, bays, channels, forested ridges, woodland islands, gallery forests, limestone hills and the Urucum Massif form a mosaic of habitats that is rare in Brazil.
The border with Bolivia is more than a geographic detail: within a few kilometers we leave the classic Pantanal floodplain and reach the Chaco and the Chiquitano dry forests. Different landscapes, different birds, and this concentrated diversity is what makes Corumbá such a strong birding region.
When to go
There is no single best season: the Pantanal works in cycles, and each period offers different sightings, not better or worse ones.

Wet season
Waterbirds concentrate in certain areas and become easier to observe.

Dry season
Grasslands open up and other species appear, with great access and light.

Migrations
They follow their own calendar: some birds are only seen in certain months. Groups in January and in August return with equally rich lists.
